strawberry, basil & lemon sorbet

200g caster sugar
300ml water
750g strawberries, hulled and quartered
juice of 2 lemons
10 basil leaves, shredded
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp Grand Marnier

Dissolve the sugar in the water, bring to boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Allow to cool.

Blend the strawberries to a smooth puree along with the basil leaves and lemon juice. Add the cold sugar syrup, Grand Marnier and the pepper and blend a little more

Freeze churn the mixture, place into a covered container and freeze for a few hours
